Treat others the way you want to be treated
Treats 4 The Streets primarily serves those who live in Franklin County. On average, our organization serves more than 80 members of the community on a weekly basis at the Columbus Downtown Library. We have found that this location is centralized to many homeless shelters, camps, and bus line.
These members of the community continue to come back because we have set the precedence as a trusted and reliable source that provides meals, toiletries, and resources. Our secret, yet not so secret sauce, is smiling and interacting with them as purely as they are, human.
- We desire to help our unhoused friends to feel positive about themselves despite not having a home to go to take care of themselves. Offering essential self-care items is important for those experiencing homelessness to feel good about themselves.
Offer Essential Self-Care Items
- Through our community partnerships, we provide access to local resources and programs that will help those experiencing homeless to get back on their feet with ease.
Provide Access to Resources
- On Tuesdays, we serve meals for those who are experiencing homelessness and financial insecurities.

What we do
Our Founder
As a child, Sherrell Johnson grew up homeless. As a recipient of many community-free meals, she remembered wishing to eat in restaurants with gourmet desserts. Sherrell always had a sweet tooth growing up. Little did she know that years later, Sherrell would turn her love for sweets into a business.
After years of being a student in the kitchen, Sherrell turned her love for baking into her business, Bake 350. Although no longer experiencing homelessness, she hasn't forgotten her humble beginnings. Reflecting on her upbringing, Sherrell always wanted to use her resources and talents to help those in need.
And she was able to do just that. In 2021, Sherrell started Treats 4 The Streets. The mission of the organization seeks to provide restaurant-quality foods, fresh baked goods, and other basic human necessities to those who are experiencing financial crises and displacement. Under Sherrell's leadership, Treats 4 The Streets has
served over 3,151 individuals and families, provided over 3,035 hot meals a week, and recruited over 377 weekly volunteers. Sherrell desires to continue to bring to light the experiences of those who are unhoused and the ability we have to put a smile on their faces.
